Hadija Namanda

Hadija Namanda is a Former President and Vice President of the Uganda Volleyball Federation (2013-2016) and the 1st female Volleyball President in Uganda and 2nd Volleyball female president in Africa. Hadija is also a FIVB International Volleyball referee, the 1st female referee in Uganda, East Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Hadija is a multisport administrator, Vice-President of Women in Sports, Africa (2024 -), President of the Women in Sports Uganda (2016 – ), and General Secretary of Women and Sports Commission, Uganda Olympics Committee (2013-2016). Hadija is a Former Elite Athlete member of Ugandan National teams for Table tennis, Badminton and Volleyball. Whilst at Makererere University, Hadija held poitions as Sports Minister Africa Hall and a member of the Games Union. She was voted Sports personality of the year three years in a row. She was awarded a Sports Scholarship to do a Masters in Olympic studies at the German Sports University.Hadija set up and runs Tena Tennis Academy, Uganda which develops talent. Hadija is a Patron of Shark Teens swim club and Momager two elite swimmers (Tendo Mukalazi and Kirabo Namutebi, who have competed at World Championships and the Commonwealth Games. Hadija is passionate about sports. She believes that Sports has given her the supreme confidence of having achieved a lot and instilled core values of humility, hard work, target setting, advocacy and discipline. She believes that every child has the potential to be an elite athlete if harnessed early. She is pursuing Data Science qualifications.
